There is definite audio lag in both, e.g., in Squadrons, if I fire the lasers on my X-wing, the sound of the laser firing doesn't happen until well after the visual of it firing, when they are supposed to be right at the exact same moment.

I tested this with two different games: Star Wars Squadrons, which is run through Steam, and Final Fantasy XIV, which is NOT run through Steam (I have the stand-alone version of the game). My games have some serious audio delay/lag when running through VMB. I've recorded videos with Nvidia of a game running while talking with my friends, and the videos have the game sound but no music or voice chat, as I hoped. As far as I can tell from my testing, this seems to work. For Discord, I used the VB virtual audio cable ("CABLE Input", in my sound settings), and I made all my media sound sources (iTunes, web browser - everything except games) the VoiceMeeter Aux Input. I've assigned those audio sources to specific inputs in VMB.

I've basically figured out how to do the main thing I want to do (force Nvidia's recording feature to exclude certain things, such as iTunes, Youtube videos, or Discord chats, enabling me to record just game audio). I think I'm getting the hang of the basics, after working with it for quite some time and watching a couple tutorial vids, etc. Ahoy! Tonight I downloaded and set up Voicemeeter Banana.
